The Sasabe Port of Entry is a border-crossing station located in southern Arizona, about 70 miles from the City of Tucson. Sasabe is one of the most isolated ports along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border, and it connects the towns of Sasabe, Arizona and El Sasabe, Sonora (Mexico). The border-crossing station is located in one of the busiest human and drug smuggling corridors of the border U.S.-Mexico border. The Tucson Sector Border Patrol held a two-day event that took national and international journalists to the Arizona desert to become acquainted with the dynamics of this area.
