Sasabe, Arizona – U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP) Public Affairs Officer J. Copeland stands next to the U.S.-Mexico border fence on a dirt road near Sasabe, Arizona. He transported journalists to a remote area where they walked through a 1.3 miles trail during a two-day event organized by the Tucson Sector Border Patrol. The event brought national and international journalists to the Arizona desert to become acquainted with the dynamics of this area. This area is located near the Sasabe Port of Entry, a border-crossing station located in southern Arizona, and about 70 miles from the City of Tucson. Sasabe is one of the most isolated ports along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border, and it connects the towns of Sasabe, Arizona and El Sasabe, Sonora (Mexico). The border-crossing station is located in one of the busiest human and drug smuggling corridors of the U.S.-Mexico border. Photo by Eduardo Barraza © 2012
